“Shoes maketh the outfit”. It is a philosophy I would have tattooed on my heart if I could because they really do. Look at a man and then look at his shoes and that will tell you more about him than his twitter feed and facebook combined. So here’s hoping my latest shoe porn crush says nothing but good things about me.
Adieu has only be on the scene since 2012 but are already becoming firm favourites with the fashion set. They have kept their style’s of shoes mainly based around mid-century youth groups i.e. teddy boys and have found popularity amongst the young and old. AW14 saw them look slightly further afield for inspiration whilst staying true to the heritage of which they have built such a successful brand.
For AW14 they looked at the electric colours of Tokyo’s nightlife and combined it with the classic style’s of the subcultures emerging post-war in Europe (think Zoot suits and Zazous). It’s a collection that appeals to every type of man from those of us who like to make bold statements to the guys who just want an upgrade to something other than a New Balance trainer (and let’s be honest, that is a trend that needs to die now). For next season, Adieu will make sure that you have the fanciest feet bar none.
